The NHERI TallWood project is a groundbreaking research initiative focused on developing resilient seismic design methodologies for tall Mass Timber Buildings in earthquake-prone regions.

The project is led by Dr. Shiling Pei of the Colorado School of Mines, the project is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and involves a consortium of universities and industry partners, including Simpson Strong-Tie.This presentation will discuss the NHERI project and the Simpson Strong-Tie custom designed and fabricated connections that enable this type of structure to be used in high seismic regions.   

Timothy Wagner, P.Eng., MBA, PMP, Field Engineer- Western Canada,Simpson Strong-Tie Canada.

Timothy Wagner is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and serves as the Simpson Field Engineer for Western Canada at Simpson Strong-Tie. He joined Simpson Strong-Tie Canada in February 2014. His expertise spans multiple product lines, with a particular focus on connectors, lateral systems, and concrete anchors. Before joining Simpson Strong-Tie, he completed his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of British Columbia, where he specialized in structural analysis and wood structures.

Parking is available underground or on the surface lot. The rate is $5.50 for the day and note that the pay parking underground is on the P2 level. The pay machines in the underground are by the B side elevator on P1 or P2 and in each atrium on the main levels.
