The Victoria branch of the BCSEG is pleased to offer a tour of the new post-secondary site called the John Horgan Campus. It is a unique collaborative partnership between Royal Roads University, the University of Victoria, Camosun College, the Justice Institute of BC and School District 62. This tour will be led by Gwen Campden, Director of the John Horgan Campus.

The new building, located in Langford at 798 Goldstream Ave., officially opened on September 2, 2025. It is a five-storey mass timber building with flexible learning spaces, a multi-purpose classroom called the Innovation Studio, and space for Indigenous gatherings. The project is planned to meet the Zero Carbon Building design standard, the first public post-secondary institution in B.C. to target this, in addition to targeting LEED Gold certification.

The tour will be followed by dinner across the street at the Browns Socialhouse Langford in the enclosed patio area. Tour fee includes a hot meal and the option for tea and coffee. There will be a cash bar. After the dinner, we shall have a branch meeting including elections for the BCSEG Victoria Branch.

4:45pm - 5:00pm - Registration in lower lobby of John Horgan Campus building (798 Goldstream Avenue, Langford)

5:00pm - Building doors lock.

5:00pm - 5:45pm approx - Building tour and presentation. The group will walk across street to restaurant.

6:00pm - Pre-ordered dinner at Browns Socialhouse Langford (Browns Socialhouse, Langford, 783 Goldstream Ave).

6:45pm - 7:30pm - Victoria Branch meeting, including Branch Election

There is ample parking off Peatt Ave, some pay and some not. There is also parking in the Brown’s Socialhouse parking lot across Goldstream Ave from the building.
