We are a growing structural engineering firm based in Salmon Arm, BC, with a satellite office in Kamloops. We are looking for a Structural Engineer / EIT with approximately 2–3 years of experience to join our team.
This is an opportunity to work on a diverse range of structural engineering projects while gaining meaningful hands-on experience from concept and design through construction. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers, architects, contractors, and clients, with opportunities to see your designs move from calculations and drawings into the field.
A P.Eng. designation is not required for this position. We welcome engineers who are working toward professional registration and want to develop their technical skills in a supportive, practical environment.
What You’ll Do
Assist with the analysis and design of structural systems for a diverse range of projects, from concept through to construction
Prepare and develop engineering calculations, structural drawings, specifications, and technical reports
Collaborate closely with senior engineers, architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders
Participate in site inspections and project meetings, gaining first-hand exposure to real-world construction and structural challenges
Apply and develop your knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and industry best practices
Work with senior engineers to develop practical, efficient, and constructible structural solutions
Continue developing your technical knowledge and professional judgment while working toward professional accreditation
What We’re Looking For
Approximately 2–3 years of structural engineering experience
A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university
EIT designation or eligibility for professional registration is an asset
Working knowledge of structural analysis and design principles
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively while also taking ownership of assigned work
A practical, problem-solving mindset and an interest in seeing projects through to construction
A willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility
