On behalf of the Board of Directors, Andy Randell, Board Chair, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Pria Sandhu as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BC Society of Engineering and Geoscience.
Pria Sandhu is a resolute, result-driven leader with over 25 years of experience in strategic and operational leadership, advocacy, and senior corporate business skills. She has demonstrated a keen interest in driving professional affairs and education and elevating brand awareness. Her leadership philosophy is rooted in a value-based approach, focusing on membership, community engagement and social impact. Pria has a proven record in negotiations and fostering stakeholder relationships through collaborative and engaging strategies. She values continuous learning and development, leveraging educational opportunities and networking to stay at the forefront of her field.
Pria’s extensive expertise in professional association leadership is evident by past roles as CEO of the BC Doctor of Optometry and Executive Director of Resident Doctors of BC. Most recently, Pria led Marketing and Professional Affairs at Johnson and Johnson Medtech- Vision Canada. Pria has played a pivotal role in advancing the interests of professional groups in the healthcare sector, emphasizing continuing education, mentoring, and promoting technology and innovation. Pria is an enthusiastic and dedicated leader who has excelled in negotiations, membership engagement, and the development of marketing campaigns focused on health awareness and promotion.
Pria’s academic qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Geography, a master’s degree in leadership and healthcare management, along with chartered professional credentials in human resources. Her educational background, coupled with her experience in advocacy, marketing, government relations, and corporate leadership, positions her for a successful transition to lead our new organization.
Pria began her role as CEO on May 1, 2025, and is currently focused on preparing the Society for its upcoming membership launch, while also laying the groundwork to provide members with valuable programs, services, and opportunities for professional growth.
