BCSEG is hiring an Operations Manager to help strengthen the day‑to‑day operations of a growing, province‑wide professional society representing engineering and geoscience professionals in BC. This role supports branch operations, volunteer coordination, internal systems, and operational delivery—working closely with the CEO to turn strategy into effective, well‑run programs.
Location: British Columbia (Remote / Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time (1-year contract)
Salary: $60,000 to $75,000 + benefits+ vacation

The BC Society of Engineering & Geoscience (BCSEG) is a member-driven, non-profit organization that represents and advances the collective voice of engineering and geoscience professionals across British Columbia. BCSEG is transitioning from early establishment into a phase of organizational stability, disciplined growth, and province-wide program delivery.
The Opportunity
BCSEG is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee and strengthen the Society’s day-to-day operational functions. This role is central to ensuring that BCSEG’s programs, branch activities, and internal processes are delivered consistently, efficiently, and in alignment with Board-approved policies.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Operations:
- Oversee and improve internal operational processes and workflows
- Support implementation of Board-approved policies and procedures
- Coordinate operational planning, calendars, and internal reporting
Branch Operations & Volunteer Support:
- Serve as the primary staff lead supporting BCSEG Branches
- Support Branch volunteers with event planning, communications, and reporting
- Ensure consistent branch standards and operational guidance province-wide
Financial & Administrative Coordination:
- Support budget tracking, expense processing, and financial controls
- Assist with contracts, insurance, records management, and compliance
Systems & Continuous Improvement:
- Support administration of operational systems and tools
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce administrative burden
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in operations, administration, or nonprofit management
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
- Experience supporting volunteer committees or branch networks is an asset
- Comfortable working with policies, budgets, and multiple stakeholders
- Ability to work independently in a small, evolving organization
